Living with One Lifeline- Christ Jesus

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Colossians 3:1-3

Hidden with Christ in God

Greetings, Dear friends; I trust you are still standing firm in the power of His might and are running your race with endurance looking unto Jesus, the Author, and the Perfector of our faith.

As I am reassessing the cause of my life, appreciating the journey, and how far God has taken us, I realize that Christ has become my only lifeline over the years. My goodness is truly nothing apart from Him. I used to depend on many different kinds of structures and systems for a living, but they all crumbled down to nothing at some stage in my life. I understood that when Christ rose from the dead, we also arose with Him, yet I did not witness the power of the resurrection in my life.

Life almost became meaningless and vanity of vanities up until I took the time to meditate and study the epistles of the Apostle Paul, but the one that changed my life was Colossians chapter 3.

I gained a new understanding that I could not live my life according to this world’s standards, even though I am here on the earth. I needed to set my mind on things above, where Christ is, sitting at God’s right hand. I had to learn to live life according to Christ’s perspective, and I committed to doing all that the word of God said I must do.

I also gained an understanding that my life is concealed with Christ in God. So I must surrender all that I am to Him, for it is no longer I that lives, but Him living in me, so living life according to the systems of this world is bound to crash because it’s contrary to the standards of Christ. I learned to depend on Christ for everything; even in desperate circumstances, I learned to wait for Him to manifest solutions according to His plan for my life. It has not been easy, but It has been worth it.

When you set your mind on things above, you are not prone to doing whatever you feel like whenever you feel like It, but you allow Christ to shape your life. You become mindful of the fruits of the Holy Spirit, owing no man anything but love, putting on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, and long-suffering. Forgiving others as you have received forgiveness, and letting the peace of God rule in your heart, understanding that whatever you do, your reward comes from above.

May I encourage you this day, to set your mind on things above, where Christ is, sitting at God’s right hand, So that when Christ, who is our life, appears, then you will emerge with Him in glory! May the Lord Jesus be the only solution for every challenge you face in life, and watch Him manifest His mercy over your life in a manner that is above and beyond your wildest imagination.

I hope my testimony inspired you to make the Lord Jesus your only lifeline to all matters of life.

Thank you for stopping by; Many blessings to you; God loves you; He is with you and for you.

  1. Having had the privilege of leading studies and preaching on Paul’s letter to the Colossians I too can give testimony of the power of God to transform lives through this short letter. Chapter 3:1-3 have had (and still do!) a powerful influence on me as well.
    blessings,
