For You shaped me, inside and out. You knitted me together in my mother’s womb long before I took my first breath. I will offer You my grateful heart, for I am Your unique creation, filled with wonder and awe. You have approached even the smallest details with excellence;
Your works are wonderful; I carry this knowledge deep within my soul. Psalm 139: 13-14 TPT.
Monday Motivation: Greetings, my dear friends! Thank you so much for following this site; I genuinely appreciate all of you. I trust you are well and safe in your respective countries. I have not posted regularly as of late, as I have taken some time off to mourn the death of my loved one. I also needed some time to recover emotionally and physically from the long periods of traveling from one province to another.
You Have Been Known Before The Foundation of the Earth
Today I want to encourage all those who do not have hope for this year and life itself. Most people did not end the year on a good note, and some did not start this year on a high note and are wondering if God has anything good in store for their lives. Some have gone through decades of pain, struggles, turmoil, and the storm does not seem to come to an end.
Some have gone through so much to the point that they cannot even recognize themselves in the mirror. Some have lost the sense of being, finding it hard to identify with themselves. Perhaps, your life has become the vanity of vanities, Eccl.1:2. Maybe you have been listening to the lies and deception of the devil that God has forgotten you, and circumstances will not improve.
May I remind you that God is mindful of you and knows everything about your past, present, and future! He is aware of each detail concerning your life. You are His most beautiful creation made in His image. You matter to Him, and we learn about this from the book of psalms, chapter 139, mentioned in the scripture below.
Lord, you know everything there is to know about me. You perceive every movement of my heart and soul, and you understand my every thought before it even enters my mind. You are so intimately aware of me, Lord. You read my heart like an open book, and you know all the words I’m about to speak before I even start a sentence! You know every step I will take before my journey even begins. You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness, you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past. With your hand of love upon my life, you impart a blessing to me. This is just too wonderful, deep, and incomprehensible! Your understanding of me brings me wonder and strength. TPT.
That is the psalm written by King David, a man whom God at some point said was a man after His own heart. As we make observations of his life, We understand that he did not have a pleasant life for a lengthy period in his life. From the time he was young, he lived isolated from the family to the point that his father would forget that he was part of his family. We learn about that when God sent the prophet Samuel to anoint the future chosen king.
His father presented in all his sons before the prophet, yet, he forgot to mention that he had another son attending to the sheep at fields. Meaning he did not even consider him fit to be the king. However, it did not matter what others thought of him because God had a great future planned for him, even though he was suffering at that time. God foreknew him; He had already predestined his life, He had called him before the foundations of the earth, and justified him, and was going to glorify him as we have an assurance in the scripture mentioned below, Romans, chapter eight verses 29-30.
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. NKJV.
He might have endured hardship, but the purpose of God upon his life was never altered or deviated to another. There is a possibility that he did not see himself beyond the status of being a shepherd boy. As he spent endless time alone in the fields, he drew closer to God. He got the revelation of who he was in God; and discovered his true identity in God as he shares with us in Psalm 139.
You shaped me, inside and out. You knitted me together in my mother’s womb long before I took my first breath. I will offer You my grateful heart, for I am Your unique creation, filled with wonder and awe. You have approached even the smallest details with excellence; Your works are wonderful; I carry this knowledge deep within my soul. 13-14 TPT.
That knowledge kept him in the presence of God, led him to enjoy a beautiful relationship with God that eventually caused God to appoint him for a kingdom that has no end. King David remained faithful to God and walked humbly before God, even in the trying times. At some point, his brothers referred to him as an evil brother even though God called him a man after His own heart, 1 Samuel 17:28.
I may not know what has been your struggle for the past years or recently; all I know is that you are a unique creation, filled with wonder and awe made in the image of God. He knows you; He foreknew you; called you by name before you were yet a substance, He separated you, and has already justified and glorified you in the image of His dear Son Jesus. All He requires of you is to continue to trust in Him, call on the name of Jesus, walk humbly before God, and at His own time, He will make all things beautiful in your life.
May you find encouragement in the life of King David. He was not perfect, but he had perfect love for God, and through that love for his God, he always gained victory at the end. It did not matter how long and how much he suffered; his faithfulness caused God to fight all his battles.
Amid the storms of life, may you be able to look at yourself in the mirror with so much appreciation, knowing you were fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God! May you never allow the voice of the enemy to convince you otherwise. You are an overcomer because Christ overcame the world.
