Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne. Matt.11:29-30. AMPC.
Are You Carrying Excess Baggage In Your Spiritual Journey?
Greetings! Beloved of the Lord. I trust you had a lovely weekend and that you were able to replenish your spiritual reservoirs. As you commence with the tasks for this week, I want to encourage you to take upon your life the easy yoke and the light burden of Christ not only for this week but for the rest of your days. The days ahead will be the toughest if one does not learn to take the easy yoke and the light burden of Christ.
There is so much pressure that the world system has put on the body of Christ. Most of the believers are questioning their beliefs and what exactly they stand for. There are so many voices that are speaking different things at the same time. Many feel heavily laden by the issues of life and don’t know which way to go. They are going through so much confusion, doubt, and fear; they can’t even perceive the peace of God. They feel no rest in their spirit, and they don’t even know if they will make it to heaven.
Our Lord and Savior Jesus had already known that trying times would soon be upon the church; hence He left the church with the keys to deal with all kinds of challenges, whether spiritually or naturally. The Lord always referred us to take two positions in our walk with Him. The first position is never to be worried about anything, no matter the circumstance. The second is to believe at all times, even if it does not make any sense in the natural eye.
To take the easy yoke of Christ means to let go of worry, and to take hold of His burden which, is His light burden means to believe Him and in Him only. How are you doing this day? Are you feeling anxious? Are you worried about your life? Maybe things are not looking good right now, and all hope has gone.
May I encourage you with the story found in Mark chapter 5, from verses 22 to 43. The man Jairus came to Jesus to ask Him to come to his house so; He may heal his little girl who was sick at that time. As we read the story, we learned that messengers from Jairus’s house came to meet him with the bad news that his daughters had already died. We also notice that the Lord Jesus told Jairus to focus on two things as they walked to his house. Firstly, the Lord told him not to be afraid; and secondly, He told him to believe only.
That was the easy yoke and the light burden of Christ that Jairus had to take upon himself if he wanted to see his daughter restored to life again. I am convinced that his heart also stopped for a moment when they told him his daughter was already dead; maybe he felt another level of anxiety until the Lord spoke the words of peace to him. Even though he did not know how Christ would raise her little girl to life, He found rest in the words of Christ and held his peace.
There is so much rest that comes with letting go of fear and trusting in the Lord. We become more rested when we believe in the Lord Jesus! At this stage, there are so many issues of concern that require us to find rest in Christ alone. May I encourage you to use the authority that Christ has given to you, the keys of dominion given to every believer. You have the power to trample on serpents and scorpions and all the power of the enemy and the promise that nothing will harm you by any means. You have the keys to bind and loose here on earth and, it will be so for you in heaven. Luke 10:19, Matt 18:18
Do not worry about anything; find rest in Christ and learn from Him. Take His easy yoke and His light burden upon yourself. Pursue Him, and learn from Him. He is all-knowing, all-powerful, and He knows the answers to all the questions you might have at this stage. Trust in Him with all your heart; He will direct your steps and give you peace!
That is the easy yoke and the light burden of Christ. ” Don’t Be Afraid! Only Believe! Matt11:28-30, Mark 5: 22-23.
A yoke would partner two oxen together to do work. Jesus is asking us to partner with him as he does the heavy work 🙂

Absolutely, and all that He is asking us to do while He is doing the heavy load, is not to worry but believe only!. Thank you so much for sharing, I genuinely appreciate it.

Sis, I love your new look on your site page. Looks very good. BTW I sent you an email yesterday, but I am not sure if it went to your spam or not. I have this new site for ladies on Facebook. I will leave you the link to check it out. https://www.facebook.com/groups/beencouraged2day/
The weigh we carry around on us is not what God has intended for us. That is why He tells us to bring our worries to Him for He can carry them. 🙏🙏

I also find comfort in knowing that He does not require much from me except to trust Him, and He works the miraculous in our lives.

A very encouraging post. I have found all worry does is add to the problems or challenges we already face. God created the world in 6 days – I believe that’s proof enough He can handle anything coming into this world or against us. God bless.

Amen! I think we limit God by worrying. Can you imagine that in six days, God created all the wonders we see? That real minister to my heart that we must learn to rest in God and not worry. You’ve just blessed me. Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to read.

Amen! Sister Beverley, this is the assurance that Christ Jesus cares for us. How is your son; I hope he is settling in well in the university.

Good and encouraging words. I began meditating on this concept a few years ago, after hearing Dallas Willard speak about the “easy yoke” of Jesus. He was very adamant about the Kingdom of heaven being something in which we can live now, not something we are waiting for when we die. He said that, in God’s Kingdom, things are far better than we could ever imagine. Sadly, it is harder to walk in these truths than it sounds.

Yes, it is true; The only way we can experience heaven on earth is if we keep meditating on His word until we see the manifestation in the natural. I have observed that God is faithful in keeping His promises to us as His children. Thank you so much, Jeff, for stopping by and taking the time to read. Many blessings to you.
